The France - Asia Research Institute (IRFA):

A site preserving a heritage passed on by missionaries since the seventeenth century.

A place of scientific research opened to all, focused on the shared history of France and Asia.

The IRFA’s objectives

The IRFA aims at protecting, enhancing, and putting forward patrimonial collections belonging to the Missions Étrangères de Paris (MEP) / Paris Foreign Missions, a catholic priests society founded in 1658 and established in fifteen different countries in Asia and the Indian Ocean.

Born from four centuries of cultural exchange and scientific research, an important patrimony is preserved in Paris and put to the service of research today.
